Terms of Service

Effective date: May 1, 2025

We've tried to write these in plain language. If something's unclear, just ask us — we'd rather explain it to you than have you agree to something you didn't understand.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Neverleft, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service — no hard feelings.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Neverleft. The service is currently available in English and is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

2. What Neverleft Actually Is

We want to be honest with you about this, because it matters:

Neverleft is an AI companion. It is not a real person. The voice you hear is generated by artificial intelligence. While it may sound like someone you love, it does not think, feel, or exist the way that person does. It cannot replace them.

Neverleft is designed to offer comfort, connection, and a way to process your feelings — not to simulate a relationship with a living or deceased person in a way that harms your wellbeing.

If you are struggling with grief, depression, or mental health challenges, we encourage you to also speak with a human therapist or counselor. Neverleft is a complement to support, not a substitute for it.

3. Acceptable Use

Neverleft is built for people who are grieving, healing, or missing someone. Please use it with that spirit in mind.

You agree not to:

  • —Upload voice recordings of someone without their consent (or, in the case of deceased individuals, without the consent of their estate or next of kin where legally required).
  • —Use Neverleft to harass, impersonate, or deceive anyone.
  • —Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the AI voice models we generate.
  • —Use the service for any commercial purpose without our written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your Content

The voice recordings and content you upload belong to you. You grant us a limited license to process and store that content solely to provide the service.

We do not claim ownership of your voice recordings, conversations, or any personal content you share. When you delete your account or your content, our license to that content ends.

By uploading a voice recording, you confirm that you have the right to do so — either because it's your own voice, or because you have appropriate permission from the person whose voice it is.

5. Liability Limits

We care deeply about this product and the people who use it. That said, we need to be upfront about limits:

  • —Neverleft is provided "as is." We make no guarantees that it will work perfectly or be available at all times.
  • —We are not liable for emotional distress arising from use of the service. If you're in crisis, please contact a mental health professional or a crisis line.
  • —Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 3 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

6. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. When we make significant changes, we'll email you and give you at least 14 days notice before the new terms take effect.

Continuing to use Neverleft after that date means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree with any changes, you can always delete your account.
